FAQs
Q: Will you be our photographer or do we get an associate based on the package we choose?
A: When you book Crystal Stokes Photography, you are booking me (Crystal), unless otherwise discussed, so you will see my smiling face on your wedding day. In the rare event that I am unable to capture your day, due to severe illness or injury, an appropriate substitute will be provided to take my place.
Q: We live far away, do we have to meet with you in order to book?
A: Nope! You can actually sign the contract and make a payment online through my secure studio management system. Want to chat first? A SKYPE date is always fun! I love getting to see my couples' faces when we Skype and you may just get a glimpse of two of the cutest little monsters in the world (I MAY be biased, not sure).
Q: We love you! How do we book the date?
A: You make me blush! All I need to book the date is an email with your full names, addresses, phone numbers, venue locations and addresses and I'll send you a contract via email. Once you digitally sign it, you'll get another email with a link to your invoice. You can pay the 40% retainer to hold your date either online through Paypal or via a check.
Q: How long will it take before we see our wedding images?
A: I love teasing you with a little sampling of your images as soon after the big day as I can. But no worries you will receive your full online gallery in 6-8 weeks from your wedding.
Q: Are the images I receive proofs?
A: Not at all. All the images you get in your online gallery (for an engagement session about 30-50 and for a wedding about 500-800) are fully edited and ready to print. Just not at Walmart because I will stomp my feet and cry if you do. I recommend www.mpix.com - it's a great online consumer lab that prints nicely and will do justice to what you see on the screen.
Q: Do I get to choose all my album photos?
A: Yes and No - I find that looking through hundreds of images to choose the best ones that tell your story can be very daunting for newlyweds! So I design your album with all the little details and memories strung together in the best possible way. I ask you to choose 20-30 MUST HAVES and let me do the rest. You can then delete spreads, swap images and make final adjustment. My couples rave that this makes their job so much easier and they LOVE the outcomes!
Q: When and How do we receive our digital images?
A: When I send you the link to your online gallery you will also get an email instructing you how to download the images to your computer for safe keeping. No need for an outdated CD or DVD that can get scratched! Your photos are shared via a system called PASS that not only stores your images "in the cloud" for 1 year, but makes sharing and downloading super duper easy.
